This week we introduced the expression, how come...? with the meaning of why? but showing surprise . To put that expression into practice, we had a listening about a person called Norman, and you were supposed to use that expression to comment on some illogical situations in his life.
After that, we had a listening about 5 people talking about some memorable lies. We discussed about differences about a white lie and a bad lie.
Once that, we continued with a listening to show politeness through intonation. We also revised some expressions such as Could you possibly...? Do you think you could...? I wonder if...? We could use when being polite. To put into practice those phrases, we had a listening in which you were given two possibilities to answer a question, and you had to choose the most polite. For homework you are supposed to fill in some exercises about the use of how come...?
